Library Newsletter
Twice a year, the library releases a newsletter to update clients on its activities and promote its services. This initiative is a collaborative effort with the faculty library committee, ensuring comprehensive coverage and relevance.
Readers’ Assistance
The library provides information services designed to assist users in navigating its resources. This service encompasses assistance in locating specific materials, responding to inquiries regarding library policies and resources, and the provision of both formal training sessions and informal guidance on the effective use of reference sources.
The library participates in resource-sharing, enabling patrons to access materials beyond our collection. As part of this agreement, the Librarian will, upon request, issue referral letters to BC students who want to avail the resources of other participating libraries. These letters are processed and issued within the same day the request is made.
Referral Service
External User’ service
BC Library promotes resource sharing by granting access to researchers from other institutions. To gain access, researchers must present a referral letter from their institution, pay a research fee of ₱50.00 at the Cashier, and present the receipt to library staff.
Library Orientation
A library orientation is conducted for first-year students and transferees during the first month of the first semester. Initiated by the Dean of Student Affairs, this orientation acquaints students with the library's rules, regulations, resources, and services.
To enhance library services, BC Library has launched an official Facebook page to provide online services to the BCEAN community. Through this page, users can post queries and request reservations for library materials. The library will also use the page to update and inform clients about its services.

The Information Desk Assistance (IDA) service is a key component of the library's commitment to user support, providing personalized assistance through one-on-one consultations and answers to queries about any aspect of the library's services or resources. This service also aims to provide valuable support to PWDs who cannot personally visit the library. A library staff member is assigned at the ground floor near the library entrance, where a computer linked to electronic resources provides immediate assistance to students in utilizing the library's resources effectively.

Electronic Resources
In response to the rapid growth of electronic publishing, libraries are expanding their collections beyond traditional print materials to include a wide range of electronic learning resources. Digital technology has revolutionized access to information, making it faster, easier, and more convenient to apply accumulated knowledge for research, societal betterment, and overall development. Electronic resources offer the added benefits of remote accessibility, reduced storage needs, and improved information management.
Recognizing the growing importance of electronic resources, Bicol College Library has expanded its digital collection to better serve the academic community. In compliance with PACUCOA standards and as part of its commitment to providing quality resources, the library recently acquired electronic journals from CE Logic (Infotrac Custom E-journals 100) and subscribed to the IG Library- Evidence Based Acquisition database for e-books from Lib Tech Philippines Inc. In addition to these resources, DOST STARBOOKS is also available, providing access to a wealth of scientific and technical information. To further support academic excellence, the Bicol College has also subscribed to Grammarly and Plagscan, tools that promote academic integrity and enhance writing quality.
Bibliographic Services
The annual library book fair is a key event designed to facilitate faculty input in collection development. This event provides faculty members with the opportunity to personally evaluate and recommend books that are relevant to their respective subjects. Book dealers are invited to showcase their latest publications, ensuring that faculty have access to a wide range of resources.
Library Book Fair
The library's bibliographic services are designed to assist users in navigating our collection and conducting research. These services include the provision of library guides and pathfinders, as well as the creation of subject-specific resource lists. These lists, which contain complete bibliographic data for all relevant books, are particularly valuable for teachers in the process of developing and updating their course syllabi. To further enhance access to our electronic resources, leaflets with QR codes are available, providing a quick and convenient way to connect to our e-resource subscriptions.
